The Caffè by Mr. Espresso is nestled on the ground floor of The Key at 12th in the vibrant heart of Downtown Oakland. The Caffè is an homage to the rich heritage of Italian-style, oakwood-roasted coffee crafted with meticulous care by the esteemed Oakland-based, family-owned roastery, Mr. Espresso. The Caffè embraces Italian coffee culture of ordering at the bar and drinking your espresso while standing. Beyond the customary coffeehouse offerings, the beverage menu features specialty handcrafted drinks such as the indulgent Nocciola-tte infused with luscious hazelnut praliné paste, Butterscotch Latte made with housemade butterscotch, Horchata Cold Brew, and the invigorating Shakerato—an Italian specialty of chilled, shaken espresso. An all-day menu of pastries, sandwiches and salads are available to-go in the cold case. The Caffè is open Monday through Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Saturday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, and closed Sunday.
