Long before the caffeine craze hit the United States with dizzying speed, Nautical Bean Coffee Company owner John Alvarez had discovered that the secret to staying one step ahead of encroaching, big-business competition was to provide an educational environment for everyone.

Located next to Oceanside Harbor with ample parking, The Nautical Bean was established in 1994 from humble beginnings with a grand vision: an out of business surf shop was converted into a modest coffee house that evolved into today’s live-entertainment cafe bistro.
