Located at the corner of SE 3rd and Clay, Nossa Familia’s Central Eastside Cafe draws inspiration from the coffee farms of our Guatemalan partners. Our third café captures the essence of Guatemala’s stunning landscapes, vibrant artistry, and the warmth of the people who welcomed us into their homes and farms. We wanted to create an environment that honors these elements and brings our customers closer to the origin of their coffee.

The cafe features beautiful multicolored fabric from Guatemalan weavers, woven throughout a custom latticework above the espresso counter. Complementing the colorful textiles is a bright blue La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine and Quetzal art (Guatemala’s national bird) in the lobby by local street artist ERAS (@404ERA on Instagram). Additionally, we offer custom, hand-painted ceramic mugs sourced directly by our founder, Augusto, during a visit to Lake Atitlán in Guatemala.

Enjoy expertly crafted coffee and signature espresso drinks like our B-Sting latte and spicy Mocha Fogo. We proudly serve freshly roasted beans from our family’s coffee farms in Brazil, along with unique blends and single-origin microlots from Central and South America. Our giveback coffees support nonprofits dedicated to making the world a better place. Indulge in a variety of sweet and savory pastries, including our must-try cheesy waffles inspired by Brazilian cheese bread (Pão de Queijo). Plus, you can take our freshly roasted coffees home by the bag.

Nossa Familia Coffee, founded by Augusto Carneiro, has deep roots in Brazil, where his family has been growing coffee since the 1890s. Recognized as one of Portland’s top coffee roasters, Nossa Familia is Oregon’s first B Corp Certified roaster, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. We work directly with farmers worldwide to source high-quality specialty coffee from Brazil, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, Ethiopia, and beyond. Nossa Familia supplies beans and equipment to cafés, restaurants, hotels, and offices across the Pacific Northwest, including our own self-operated cafés.
